A sesshin is an intensive multi-day Zen meditation retreat. We learn from the open-hearted practice of our women ancestors through their awakening poems recorded in the Therigatha, the earliest known collection of women’s spiritual poetry, and through koan study that highlights the understanding of our female ancestors. These koans reveal the deep wisdom, fierce devotion, humor, and free spirit of our women ancestors. We recommend that guests have previously done at least a 1 day silent retreat.
