John and Deborah Saxon 7/5/2010	We truly felt rested and renewed after two nights at this lovely retreat just outside Colorado Springs. This simple, adobe guest house from the 1930's, has been lovingly nurtured into a new role by Ann Benson and her husband, Chuck. We found many reasons to be both surprised and charmed by the many thoughtful, small touches. Everything works to nourish the spirit in this intimate space. Physical needs are also attended to thoughtfully. We found plenty of water, supplies for making tea and coffee, and -- most important of all -- a bountiful supply of dark chocolate awaiting us! We found this to be a lovely spot in which to relax amidst soaring pines and awake to fresh mountain air, with two very sensitive hosts who understand and honor a need for privacy while attending to the small details that turn what could simply be a nice place to stay into a true respite. We recommend The Sanctuary of the Rose highly.
