Welcome to the web site of The Mahamudra Centre, a FPMT Buddhist retreat centre set in the stunning Colville Valley on the Coromandel Peninsula, North Island, New Zealand.

We are situated on 8 acres in the inspirational setting of Colville Valley, Coromandel Peninsula, surrounded by meadows, woods and the imposing hills of the Coromandel range. Our proximity to beautiful beaches and breathtaking sea views provide an ambience conducive to peace, calm and healing.

Our centre hosts regular courses taught by visiting lamas and teachers, group retreats, solo retreats and various healing courses.Like-minded organizations and groups can rent our facilities. Mahamudra is an excellent place to take time out from the stresses of city life, to do personal retreat or to recuperate from such effects as illness or grief if one chooses.

It is a place where one can participate in a Buddhist way of life, joining in daily meditations, work and social activities in a supportive environment.

Our accommodations include four self contained huts, four dormitories, three single and three twin rooms, accommodating up to 30 people.
